Ultimate Healer
This week we’ve been learning about spiritual authority. During our afternoon session yesterday, the group put into practise what we’ve been learning and prayed healing over my knee which has been bothering me for a couple weeks now. I’d noticed that it was feeling a bit better throughout the evening, but it was still in pain. When I woke up this morning, I felt no pain, but it still didn’t feel normal. We had a session this morning on hearing the voice of God which has been a continuous theme during our time here. After being asked to choose a story from our journal (“Your Ears Will Hear” by Steve and Evy Klassen), I was led to page 52 which talks about surprises. It asked the question “what has surprised you lately?”. So, how had God surprised me lately?
- The pain in my knee was gone.
- God had led me to this specific story and the verse at the bottom was from Isaiah 55 which is what I’ve been memorizing.
- During life groups, I felt God wanted me to ask Him to speak to me in a special way today, and I did.
- I realized I would’ve never thought God would speak to me in these ways, and then I remembered Isaiah 55:8 which says that God’s thoughts are nothing like our thoughts.
This was just the beginning! While the speaker prayed against any powers of darkness and invited the Holy Spirit during afternoon session, my knee shook. It really caught me off guard and I knew it wasn’t just a twitch. When I got up shortly after and walked around, I noticed it felt completely normal again and it’s continued feeling this way all afternoon.
What a perfect way to end our week of spiritual authority!
